Dungloe Donegal

Dungloe Donegal

[ssba] An Clochán Liath is the name you’ll see on signposts as you approach Dungloe, referring to the grey-coloured stepping stones which were once used to cross the town’s river. Dungloe is the biggest town in West Donegal, the focal point of Na Rosa or in English ‘The Rosses’.

The town is known all over Ireland and further afield as the home of Mary from Dungloe, and of the festival called after her. The fishing enthusiast will be well catered for in the Rosses with 130 lakes, river, shore and sea fishing to choose from. For golfers there is a choice of excellent links courses to choose from within easy reach of the village.
